Submitting an accreditation application to GCAIS
Before You Apply
Before submitting an application, applicants should ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- You have reviewed the GCAIS standards applicable to your AI systems (available on the Standards page)
- You have completed an internal self-assessment against the applicable standards
- You have identified the accreditation tier you are applying for and understand its requirements
- You have prepared or identified the required documentation listed below
- Key personnel responsible for standards compliance are available for the assessment period
Required Documentation
The following documentation is required for all accreditation applications. Additional documentation may be requested by the Accreditation Committee during review.
Submitting Your Application
Applications are submitted by email to the GCAIS Secretariat. Please include all required documentation as attachments or provide secure access links. Applications submitted without required documentation will be returned for completion before assessment begins.
Submit application to:
Subject line: "Accreditation Application - [Organization Name] - [Tier Applied For]"
Processing Timeline
Following receipt of a complete application:
- Acknowledgement: Within 5 business days of receipt
- Document review: 30 to 45 business days
- Technical assessment (Verified/Accredited): Additional 20 to 30 business days following document review
- Committee decision: Within 10 business days of assessment completion
- Total typical duration: 60 to 90 business days
Non-Disclosure Agreements
Where technical architecture documentation or other commercially sensitive materials are required for assessment, applicants may request that the assessment be conducted under a mutual non-disclosure agreement. NDA requests should be indicated in the application email. The Secretariat will provide standard NDA terms for review. Assessment does not commence until the NDA is executed.
